The impact of new technologies on cognitive warfare and national security with a focus on cybersecurity

This research aims to analyze the political and social functions of social networks in cognitive warfare and to examine the challenges and opportunities for national security. A descriptive-analytical research method was used and the fundamental concepts of cognitive warfare and social networks were examined with a fundamental approach. In this study, through a literature analysis and a review of specific cases of the use of social networks in cognitive warfare, the tools of social networks in cognitive warfare were identified. Also, the ethical and security challenges associated with the use of social networks in cognitive warfare were evaluated. The findings show that social networks are used as effective tools in cognitive warfare and can play a role in spreading misinformation and changing public opinion. On the other hand, these networks can also help in confronting cognitive threats and improving national security resilience. The conclusion of this research shows that a deep understanding of the functions of social networks in cognitive warfare can help policymakers and security officials in designing strategies to counter cognitive threats. This research also provides suggestions for the optimal use of social networks to enhance national security.
