Abstract
In the field of water production from humidity, the design of TEC device is very important for use in remote units. Using thermoelectric technology, these devices are able to absorb moisture in the air and convert it into clean and usable water. In this research, a device with dimensions of 20cm x 20cm x 10cm was prepared. A fan was installed on the box for air movement. Also, two heat sink cooling fans were seen on the door of the box for more cooling to increase the water production. This cooling system consists of a number of copper pipes (closed loop in which water moves) in contact with one surface of the TEC and the other surface in contact with humid air. The main reason for this choice is the high heat capacity of water, which absorbs the heat well from one side of the TEC and keeps the other side as cold as possible, and this action causes the production of as much water as possible. In addition, a thermoelectric with a power of 120 watts each (two TECs in total) was seen at the bottom of each heat sink. The whole system is powered by two power banks, which are charged by a 30 watt solar panel. The water output of the device is as follows: in the winter weather of Tehran province with humidity close to 50% and 80% (within a period of 5 hours), the amount of 100 and 200 ml of water (from air humidity) was extracted, respectively.
